The central beam bears a pair of finely engraved dragon and icons of painting. The slab on top bears people and bats. The center of the roof bears a guard and the 2 ends show an owl with the head down. The 8 stone lions in front and behind the stone columns are lovely figurines. Used to be the first entrance to the Tainan Confucius Temple, it was moved east because of Nanmen Road that was later constructed. In front of the Confucius Temple courtyard, there is the Pan Pond, a semicircular pool located in the south of the non-existent Lin Hsing Gate and with stone railing. The Pond originates from the “Book of Pond Water” in the Book of Odes, thus, on the wall of the pond, there is a stone tablet reading “Thinking of music by the pond.”
